With
15 years experience in journalism, marketing communications and change
management, Ingrid Burling worked for a wide range of businesses including
some of the world’s leading blue chips before deciding to change
direction and become a coach.
Former
employers included McDonnell Douglas Information Systems, Rolls Royce
Aerospace Plc, and Hughes Rediffusion Simulation, as well as publishers
Channel 4 Education, Berlitz, HarperCollins, and professional service
providers HSBC Bank and Arthur Andersen, to name but a few.
In
the last few years of work in change management Ingrid decided to strike
up a new career to integrate all the business skills she had acquired
in the past, with a new, more relaxed life.
She
says: “Through working as an executive coach I am exercising the
business muscle that I love to flex, while thoroughly enjoying the coaching
itself because it is by nature calm and reflective work. I earn good fees,
am writing regularly and have a great home life. And I've achieved most
of this using coaches!"
Ingrid
set up All About You four years ago while attending her first NLP course.
Clients come from all market sectors and walks of life, and can be of
any age, gender, credo or nationality. She is also forging a name for
herself as a motivational speaker.
Ingrid
trained as a Master Practitioner of Neuro-Linguistic programming (NLP),
having completed over 400 hours of invigilated and certified training
in this field with International Teaching Seminars (ITS). She has learned
various Core Transformation techniques, and studied Timeline™Therapy
with Tad James.
Both
of these are powerful methods for changing self-limiting beliefs. She
is a qualified Reiki (II) healer, and holds a certificate in Ericksonian
Hypnosis. She is in continual development, investing in regular training
to advance her skills. This year she has trained in advanced NLP skills
for presenters, and will be learning accelerated learning techniques to
use in her coaching.
Since
moving out of the smog two years ago, Ingrid has been living with her
husband, Mark, who is a Baritone and Facilities Manager for Medway Council,
in an Edwardian house, which they are gradually renovating.
Together
they enjoy concerts, the theatre, going to jazz clubs, dining in seafood
restaurants, and pretending to be gardeners. Whenever they can, they take
their Bernese puppy Raffles for long walks in the countryside or on a
beach, and throw his favourite toy (a pink plastic hedgehog) down the
garden. Apologies to hedgehogs...
Mark
is a keen sailor, and is about to do a certificate as an outward bound
instructor. Ingrid’s interests include Tango Argentino, which she
took up 10 years ago. She studied the dance for two years before going
to Buenos Aires to finehone it. She enjoys reading by the fire, watching
vintage movies, swimming in unheated pools, rambling, yoga and throwing
dinner parties for friends.
